Chaired by Dr. Wahid Wassef, the 2024 GI Symposium is designed to update the community on the latest GI medical knowledge available internationally, and which of these services are available at BUMCP. The Digestive Institute continues to grow and develop multi‐specialty clinics in a number of areas which include the foregut clinic, the bariatric disease clinic, the colorectal disease clinic and the pancreatic disease clinic.

Internationally recognized speakers will be presenting keynote lectures that will complement our faculty. Discussion the latest in polyp detection and removal and updates on Endo bariatrics are a few among topics being addressed. Our foregut clinic physicians will be reviewing the latest in GERD diagnosis and treatment, as well as the latest in dysphagia diagnosis and treatment including POEM. Bariatric disease clinic physicians will address the latest in surgical management and multi‐specialty care, Colorectal disease clinic physicians will lecture the latest in Cancer management, and the Pancreatic disease clinic will provide an update on the latest in management. Additionally, a hands‐on lab will be available to provide the latest techniques and approaches for hemostasis, Endosuturing, Ovesco clip usage and Esoguard.
