We did it!!!
On October 14 we sumitted Kilimanjaro after a 4 day trek.
We also raised over $15,000.
Every penny has been donated to Banner Children's Cancer Center to help the fight against pediatric cancer.
==================================================================================
Each year 17,000 children are diagnosed with cancer in the United States. Many of these children will undergo surgery, radiation and months of chemotherapy. Fortunately most of the children overcome their cancers. But their journey throught cancer treatment comes at a high cost - financially, physically, socially and mentally. Banner Health is in the process of building a top notch children's cancer center at Banner Desert Medical Center in Mesa for the treatment of pediatric cancers.
My name is Haan Lee. I am in 8th grade.
In October, my dad and I will climb Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania to raise money to support the children and families receiving cancer care at Banner Children's at Desert. We will also be commemorate 2 milestones: I turned 14 years old in September and my dad will be turning 50 next year!
Our goal is to raise $10,000.
Mount Kilimanjaro is the tallest mountain in Africa, with its glacier covered peaks towering over 19,341 feet above sea level. Our trek will take 6 days through rain forests, alpine deserts, and arctic zones. On our final night we will summit the mountain to see the glorious sunrise over Africa the next morning.
Your help is critically important in the fight against children's cancer. Every dollar you contribute will go support pediatric cancer care at Banner Desert Medical Center.
